The best time to travel for a self-drive in East Africa is in the dry seasons, from June to October and in January and February. In the rainy season the roads can become impassable.

Climate

Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda are located around the equator. The temperatures are therefore about the same all year round. In the low-lying areas you can expect temperatures around 30 degrees. In the mountains it is a bit cooler.
